The Madison County Historical Society of Anderson, Indiana, was organized in 1884 and incorporated in 1926. From these humble and early beginnings, the Society has continued on its mission to collect and preserve objects, artifacts, documents and photographs relating to the historical development and life in and pertaining to Madison County, Indiana. Through exhibitions, education and research, we seek to interpret and prompt an awareness and appreciation for the history and life of our community to benefit our present and future generations.
The Center is only open to the public on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00am until 4:00pm. Some exhibits and requests can cause variations. There is no admission charge to visit the Center. Please, feel free to call us with questions.
