LAPEL, IN - At the Park Meeting held last night the Park Board voted in favor of a quote from Select Lawn Services to seed the new Park.

The quote was $12,500 which will come out of the DNR Grant. Two other companies provided quotes for this step of the project but only wanted to provide the seed and then the Park Department would have to spread the seed themselves or find another company to do that.

The quote from Select Lawn Services includes $4,000 of grass seed, spreading the seed and working on parts of the park that have soil erosion problems.

Work will begin as soon as it is dry enough to do so.

The Park Board also approved a proposal from Evan Humphries a Troop 232 Eagle Scout that wanted to provide the Town of Lapel a "Little Free Library" for one of the Parks. This would be a similar concept to the one outside First Merchants Bank but would be installed at Woodward Park.
