Lapel Fire Department Celebrates National Volunteer Week

LAPEL, IN - April 6th - 12th is National Volunteer Week and the Lapel Fire Department wants to encourage you to volunteer to help your local community.

National Volunteer Week, April 6-12, 2014, is about inspiring, recognizing and encouraging people to seek out imaginative ways to engage in their communities. It’s about demonstrating to the nation that by working together, we have the fortitude to meet our challenges and accomplish our goals.

If you don't wish to volunteer for the LFD then Jason Renner with the Fire Department hopes that you at least get involved in the local community by helping your church or organizations like the Lapel Community Association or Lapel Food Pantry.

Now matter how good or bad you think your life is there are always people more unfortunate than you that need and appreciate the kindness of others to get through a dark period in their life.

The Lapel Fire Department is always looking for new volunteer members ages 18 and older.

Stop by the Firehouse visit the website at or call 765-534-3747.
